How Multi-Semester Cumulative CGPA Blending Operates
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) represents the aggregate weighted quality point quotient across all collegiate semesters. Each term's credits and quality points accumulate into the institution's permanent academic record.
Repeat Course Grade Forgiveness Rules
When a student retakes a course previously completed with a grade of D, D+, or F, collegiate bylaws determine how quality points are adjusted. Under University of Sharjah (UOS) Article 34 and standard AACRAO guidelines:
- Grade Replacement: The new higher course grade replaces the prior grade point contribution in the cumulative CGPA computation.
- Credit Cap Preservation: Credit hours for the course are counted only once toward graduation degree requirements.
- Historical Notation: The original grade remains permanently noted on the official transcript with a repeat flag (e.g. "R" or "E").
